Joinery & fit-out
Doors, ceilings, floors, wardrobes, kitchens and furniture, made in our own workshop from timber dried in our own kiln and fitted by the same team that built the house.
Why it matters
Every piece of timber we use is dried to a stable moisture content before it is machined.
Undried timber shrinks, twists, splits and opens joints once it is inside a warm finished house. Drying it properly takes time and costs money, which is exactly why it is the step most often skipped. We run our own kiln so we control it, and because we are also the ones who have to come back and fix a warped door, we have every reason to get it right.
What we make
Panel doors, flush doors, double main entrance doors and matching frames.
Made in mahogany, cypress, meru oak and other species, cut to your openings rather than to a standard size. Because the timber is kiln dried first, the door still closes properly after the first dry season. That is the single most common complaint about joinery in Kenyan homes and it is entirely avoidable.
Exposed timber, panelled and coffered ceilings, with cornices and lighting details.
From a simple lined ceiling with a shadow line to full timber panelling and coffered detail in a sitting room, all in timber we dried and machined ourselves. We design them with the electrician's layout in hand, so downlights, speakers and curtain boxes are planned in rather than cut in afterwards.
Solid and engineered timber floors, staircases, skirtings and architraves.
Laid on a properly prepared screed with the right moisture allowance, so boards do not cup or open into gaps. We also build and finish timber staircases, balustrades and handrails to match.
Built in wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, islands, pantry units and vanities.
Measured off the finished walls rather than off the drawing, so there are no filler strips and no gaps. Carcasses, doors and drawers are made in our workshop and fitted by the same team.
Dining tables, TV units, shelving, beds, reception counters and office furniture.
If it is timber and it belongs in the house we built, we can make it, in the same species and finish as the rest of the joinery, so the whole interior reads as one piece of work.
Usually possible. Doors, fitted wardrobes, kitchens, ceilings and floors can be measured and installed in an existing house. Send us photos and rough dimensions and we will tell you what is practical and what it would cost.
